I've mentioned quite a few times on this blog how much I LOVE photographing the same families over and over and documenting how they grow and change over time. What I have not admitted before is that I sometimes get a little worried that if they keep coming back again and again, I might run out of ideas for making each new session unique. Luckily, I haven't had to find out if that's true, because my clients have amazing ideas of their own! McLaurin had a clear vision for this session: super casual summertime family photos full of play, especially play in water. I pride myself on my location scouting skills, but I've driven along this little creek at least once a week for YEARS and never once thought to use it for a portrait session. I was so inspired by the fact that this momma could envision her sweet family's portraits right here in this creek... which, as it turns out, is perfectly picturesque, indeed!
Navarro did a little tree climbing at our session last year, but it was fun to see Solomon getting in on the action too this time around!
It's no secret that our wonderful church is one of my favorite places to photograph. There are so many lovely spots everywhere you look!
The boys were pretty anxious to get to the playground. We had such a fun time playing!
One more stop for the most fun of all: the splash pad at Fort Maurepas! Perfect casual summertime fun!
I was just having a conversation today in which an acquaintance described my photography style as "not at all stuffy," and I'd say this session is definitely evidence of that! Thanks, Palmers, for embracing your not-at-all-stuffy-ness and bringing your fabulously fun ideas to yet another joyful family portrait session! If you're ready to plan a relaxed and FUN portrait session for your own family this Fall, let me know! :)
