Afton had such fun at the Highlands Museum that we decided to check out another discovery center just a couple of days later! None of us had been to the Clay Center in Charleston, WV before, but reading online about its Avampato Discovery Museum had us convinced that it would be worth the drive, and that definitely proved to be true!
Unsurprisingly, Afton was a huge fan of the Waterworks exhibit. We grown-ups were pretty impressed by it, too! There were all kinds of ways to interact and observe the power of water: Afton got to control water wheels, dams, and even a lock system for miniature boats!
We all tested out our physical fitness in the HealthyMe exhibit.
The Maier Foundation Music Studio had tons of ways to play with sound and make our own music!
We explored lots of areas in the MyTown exhibit, but by far Afton’s favorite part was playing doctor. Her doctor kit is one of her favorite things to play with at home, so getting to give check-ups on a much bigger scale was pretty thrilling for her—and how cute is she in that white coat? ;)
Our favorite part of the ArtSpace exhibit was this magnet wall, which is also a much larger version of one of her favorite toys. So much fun!
Thanks for such a great day, Clay Center! Can’t wait to bring baby Jonas along next time! :)
