Summertime Visit to Ashland, Kentucky

I’ve managed to get through editing another month’s worth of family photos, and it turns out that June requires FOUR (!) blog posts, which will include photos taken in six states! First up, a lovely visit to my hometown of Ashland, Kentucky… home of the best back porch in all the world.

Afton had tons of fun playing outside with Sweet T, Granddaddy, and Granny, and she especially bonded with aunt Trecia (but sadly wasn’t a big fan of uncle Brent.)

We visited the park with Sweet T and friend Susan.

Aunt Nannie and Aunt Reba stopped by…

…and we visited Great Grandma for what turned out to be the last time.

We enjoyed a lovely picnic on the riverfront, and at Afton’s insistence, we drove across both bridges. This girl loves bridges!

I enjoyed browsing the murals on the flood walls, some of which I hadn’t seen before.

On to the main reason for this trip… We all ventured north to Morgantown, West Virginia to celebrate uncle Alex’s residency graduation. It was so much fun hearing so many others sing the praises of our favorite ENT!

That’s two states down, four to go for this month. Stay tuned! :)
